The College Bound Recommendations are suggested courses that we encourage students to take if they are interested in attending a competitive college. These courses offer more rigor and diversity to appeal to admission representatives of colleges and universities across the nation. The following is which credits students will earn when they follow the College Bound Course Recommendations:


  • Earns 25 units of credit which include four units of English, three units of mathematics, two units of science, three units of social studies, and have at least a 3.0 GPA in these four areas.
  • Scores above the prior year's national composite average on the ACT or SAT.
  • Earns the following credits: one fine art unit, one practical art unit, one physical education unit and five elective units.
  • Earns three advanced electives in foreign language and/or core curricular courses.
