About the Program

The Washington School District Orchestras are one of the oldest activities in the Washington School District history, as well as one of the most prized activities.  The program runs 5th through 12th grade, and has around 200 students currently enrolled district-wide.  The directors travel to 6 schools each per week to give personal instruction to the 75+ students at the elementary level.   The program frequently boasts beginning enrollment around 70 students.   Under the direction of Meghan Brueggemann and Dr. Susie Thierbach, students learn about all aspects of music, as well as good citizenship and responsibility.

There are numerous opportunities to see performances of the various orchestras in the district.  All concert dates will be listed on this site, as well as points to remember in each class.  Also on this site you will find out a little about your directors and how they came to you.  We are always open to pictures on the website, so if you have one you would like to include, email Meghan Brueggemann at meghan.brueggemann@washington.k12.mo.us.

We are so blessed to be working in such a fine district with the support and hard work of the parents and students involved!  Check back weekly for news and information!
